General
Please note this is the first time we have tried to run a club ladder. There are many rules and variations that can be made. We have tried to keep it simple first time round.
We are aware that many players will be playing league matches and may not have much time to play ladder games.
If you have any suggestions or improvements please let us know and if we run another ladder then we will try to include them.

The decision of the administrator is final.
Entries
Entries for chess ladder from 1st January 2024 to 1st May 2024 are now open.
Whoever is at the top of the ladder on the 1st May 2024 will be the winner.
Please contact Martin via WhattsApp or email martinsheard(at)blueyonder.co.uk (replace at by @) to enter.
Places on the ladder were drawn at the club on Tuesday 19 December. Anyone entering after this date will be placed at the bottom of the ladder.
Ladder Rules
Game Results
The winner of each game should contact Martin via Whatsapp or email of the result. If the game is drawn the player of the white pieces should contact Martin.
All game results must be given at the latest by the Friday of the week the game was played.
If no result is given after two days of the game being played then that game will be counted void.
Ladder Updates
Ladder updates will be made weekly when all the results are known. Updates will be sent to the Barnsley Chess Club WhatsApp group and by email. Players may wish to print a copy of the latest ladder standings before going to the club.
